Gil Haugan Construction was founded in 1960 by Gil and Iola Haugan to serve the community’s need for quality workmanship and honest dealing. Gil served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean War in 1951-1952 where he was instilled with the Marine Corps values of honor, courage, and commitment. While serving he was awarded the Silver Star and the Korean Service Medal with 3 stars. After returning home to Iola those values helped shape his business and personal life. Gil passed in 2014 at the age of 81.
Iola dug into the business side of the business and handled all the accounting and record keeping by hand. Her meticulous record keeping was always complete, up to date, and accurate. Iola always knew which payments were due as well as which payments had to be made off the top of her head. Eventually computers caught up and her records were digitized which gave her some much needed free time. Iola passed in 2010.
To this day we still live by those simple but lofty standards.
Gil Haugan Jr took the reigns in 2000 and has continued to strive to do all business in the most honest and upfront way possible. Gil Jr. has instilled these values in his children and now Gil III is beginning the journey of shaping his young twins to be honest and hardworking in everything they do. Our staff is also a big part of our family, with these great and loyal people joining us from all walks of life we come together to provide our customers with the utmost care and commitment.
